EFC soccer tournament turns town pink

Each year Dias sponsors a kit to a team for the tournament with this year being no different.

Edenvale Football Club (EFC) painted the town pink with their annual Cansa Tournament on October 14 and 15.
A total of 91 teams took part in the two-day fundraiser tournament.

The tournament was established seven years ago by the current chairperson Tony Dias after he was diagnosed with colon cancer in early 2016.

Teams battled it out at the Edenvale Sports Ground.

Each year Dias sponsors a kit to a team for the tournament with this year being no different.

The teams battled it out at EFC’s home grounds at Edenvale Sports Grounds, the non-competitive tournament catered to players from U6 to U12.

Spectators were out in their numbers to witness local talent on October 14.

The tournament raised about R40 000 from the entry and vendor fees, which will be donated to Cansa.
