Local wrestlers scoop medals at competition

That day, there were more than 600 wrestling contests.

The Primrose Wrestling Club members walked away with several medals at the Ekurhuleni Open Wrestling Championships on February 25.

The club, also known as Raptors Wrestlers, took 20 wrestlers to the tournament and brought home gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Anton Strydom won silver in the junior school’s president’s category and gold in the U11 freestyle division.

That day, there were more than 600 wrestling contests.

Ben Oosthuizen won the gold medal in the U13 freestyle and the bronze in the junior school’s president’s category.

Werner van Wyk won a bronze medal in the U10 freestyle category.

Werner van Wyk took bronze in the U10 freestyle category.

Anton Strydom won gold in the U11 freestyle category and silver in the junior school’s president’s category.

Jaun Vorster won a gold medal in the junior school’s president’s category and Seth Elston won the bronze in the U10 freestyle.
