Thank you, Edenvale SAPS

“The officers were so efficient from the time they arrived to the time we left the police station after opening a case of theft.”

EDITOR – I was hijacked in the driveway of the Edenvale Baptist Church on June 19 while waiting for the guard to open the gate for me.

He is normally there to open the gate immediately, but he was walking around the premises after one of the alarms went off in the building five minutes before I arrived and he wasn’t aware of me at the gate.

I took out my phone to message someone inside the church and ask them to open the gate for me.

In the few seconds in which I was on my phone, my car window was smashed with the back of a cocked gun and I was pulled out of my car.

I stood and watched as three men drove off in my car.

We phoned the Edenvale SAPS, who were there within 30 minutes.

The officers were so efficient from the time they arrived to the time we left the police station after opening a case of theft.

We hear so many horrible stories about the police in SA, and when I complimented the captain at the station his reply was: “That’s our job ma’am. We do what we have to.”

So I would like to say a huge thank you not only to the Edenvale Police Station, but also to the Edenvale Baptist Church for all your support, to Mamba Security Services, as well as to the Kloof Road Medical Centre in Bedfordview for your efficiency and care.

There is still hope in this country.
