Editor – While I am sensitive to the sentiment of people wanting to change street, town or village names, at this point in time; however, it would be a waste of resources both in money and manpower.
They should first get all community and municipal service delivery departments up to scratch and up to date with all repairs, installations, maintenance and delivery.
Only then should names be changed.
Communities need infrastructure repaired and supplied, such as housing, clinics, schools, hospitals and roads. Potholes need fixing, street lights need to be supplied and maintained. Stormwater drains need to be cleaned and repaired.
The list goes on and on, in all of Ekurhuleni areas.
