Residents posed to danger

Resident writes letter to the editor on a hole left behind by the City of Ekurhuleni.

EDITOR – On 17 Bradford Road in Bedfordview there is a hole that is posing a danger to the pedestrians and vehicles that are moving in and out of the premises.

The matter was reported three months ago to the municipality.

The water and sanitation department dug up the road to fix a leak, but have left a hole open after fixing the leak.

Some of the staff members working shifts at 17 Bradford walking to the taxi rank during the evening have been injured.

I have called the call centre and they just sent me from pillar to post.

Lesego Motsamai.

EDITOR’S COMMENT – City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe commented as follows:

We have investigated this matter and found that the site was not restored.

The city has made arrangement for the site to be back-filled and the paving repaired.

There is no record of a call logged for the said address in the past six months on the logging system, e-MIS.

The city always takes reasonable steps to avoid hazardous situations and attend to them whenever they are reported.
