Resident concerned about rats

I believe that there must be something wrong with the council system to allow this problem to persist for so long.

EDITOR – The accompanying image is the view I have from my back door on erf 6B, Williams Road.

This view is something I have had to look at for the past three years and worse still, this is undoubtedly a breeding ground for rats and mice that plague residents in the area.

I first reported this matter to council in March of 2015 and followed up with 10 letters of complaints for the past three years.

I received no response.

The stand remains an eyesore and a health hazard.

I believe that there must be something wrong with the council system to allow this problem to persist for so long.

Our patience is now exhausted.

Unless some positive action is taken in the near future by council, we shall have to consider what legal remedies are available to us.
