Thankful for response to SOS

I imagined the worst and didn’t know what to do, so I phoned Mamba.

EDITOR – Recently I was in Thornybush and received five messages requesting help from a friend who knew I was away for the weekend, so I thought she had forgotten because she was in shock.

The five messages were:

  •  I need help with a web link to a GPS location
  •  Photo of her feet
  •  Recording but I couldn’t make out what it was
  •  Photo of her face
  •  SOS with a web link to a GPS location

I tried to phone her cellular phone, landline, SMS and WhatsApp’d her and didn’t get a response.

The GPS location pointed to the Bedford Centre, so I thought she was being hijacked or something else sinister.

I imagined the worst and didn’t know what to do, so I phoned Mamba.

They said that Bedford Centre was unfortunately out of their footprint and sent a car to her home address in Dowerglen but no-one was home.

After sending them the messages, they sent a vehicle to Bedford Centre and located her car, but no-one was in it, so they tried to locate her in the centre which they eventually managed to do.

My friend had set up a request for assistance on her phone some time back and had accidentally triggered it.

I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to Kevin Norman and his team at Mamba for acting so quickly and efficiently, even though my friend doesn’t belong to Mamba and they don’t operate in Bedfordview.

It gives such us such confidence in Mamba, knowing that they can be counted on in times of emergency.
