EDITOR – I am sending out an appeal to the pedestrian or jogger who was knocked over by a white Mercedes Sprinter van on Palliser Road on Friday, March 20 at 8pm to please come forward and lay an official charge against the driver of the white van.
I was driving behind the vehicle at the time of the incident and myself and my passenger friend witnessed the incident.
We saw you getting up and assumed that you were alright and decided to follow the vehicle, which was driving recklessly to his home in Illiondale.
I called Mamba security and the SAPS.
I then went back to the place where you were knocked over to see if I can be of any assistance but you were gone when I returned.
The police informed me that they cannot respond to the incident as you must open a case.
I have a photograph of the vehicle I took on March 21 when I decided to follow him.
He stopped in Kempton Park then returned home.
To the screaming lady who was inside the van on the day, and who was being beaten up by the male driver, I also plead to you to open a case of assault.
I honestly hope that this letter will be read and steps can be taken against the low life person.
