Reader commends Edenvale Hospital

I guess my aunt was aware of my misfortune of a possible hereditary condition that both my parents suffered from, so severe that my mother ended up committing suicide.

EDITOR – I was recently admitted to hospital for attempted suicide.

This time, my “manic episode” led to a violent domestic physical dispute between me and my fiancé.

Unfortunately, it ended up with a handfull of family members’ involvement and unnecessary harmful words were exchanged.

Totally humiliated, I was screamed at, judged for being a total nutcase, called a druggie high on cocaine, a mental freak, while neighbours looked on in horror.

The only family that stood by me was my aunt Angelina, cousin Sean, some family on my father’s side and most importantly, my fiancé, Rodney.

I guess my aunt was aware of my misfortune of a possible hereditary condition that both my parents suffered from, so severe that my mother ended up committing suicide.

Nevertheless, I was welcomed with open arms by my “new” family at the Edenvale Hospital.

Not only are the nurses highly trained, they have the empathy and communication skills to communicate proper information to their superiors whenever they suspect a patient is in need.

Through their alertness, I was immediately sent to be assessed by psychologists and diagnosed with BP2 (Bipolar 2) and Borderline Personality Disorder BPD on two different occasions.

At last, after many years of suffering in silence, I have been prescribed the correct medication for my condition while I am waiting to be treated at a facility with highly trained professionals to guide me in the right direction.

A special thanks to nurse Tiny and her warrior and the doctors for your patience with my tantrums, amazing prayers and always being there to wipe a tear from my eye.

God bless and thank you for keeping Edenvale Hospital’s name tops!
