Resident concerned over Post Office mail

As a member of the public, I am not interested in what the Post Office is doing by way of engaging temporary workers into permanent positions.

EDITOR –

I read with interest the article on the Post Office Strike. What floors me is the apparent inability of the Post Office to deal with the situation in an effective manner.

As a member of the public, I am not interested in what the Post Office is doing by way of engaging temporary workers into permanent positions. I am more concerned about the fate of my mail which I have not been receiving for over five weeks now.

I have paid a lot of money into the delivery of items of value from both inside and outside of South Africa, and nobody is in a position to tell me where they are, despite there being tracking numbers on the items.

Attempts to use the SMS numbers provided have also proved to be fruitless. Phones are not answered either.

I believe that someone has to be accountable to the public to announce what has happened to their mail. Even more annoying is the motto used by the Post Office, ‘We deliver, whatever it takes’. What a lot of hoo-ha.
