Lily rescued in Edenvale

People spend a fortune on a holiday at the sea and think its fine to leave a pet to their own devices.

EDITOR – Little Lily was left alone for two weeks over Christmas with only a dog feeder and a big bowl of rain water.

The next door neighbour fed this darling treats through the gate.

When the owners returned from their holiday, they never bothered to go and see if she was safe.

However, her tail wagged for an hour with great anticipation and excitement.

The neighbour went across after witnessing this and asked if she could have Lily.

The owners wanted to negotiate a price.

Our doggy-angel, Sandra, paid a sum across for the dog.

She then surrendered this angel to Woodrock Animal Rescue as she was unable to keep Lily.

Lily has now found a new home.

At Woodrock we feel that pet ownership is a luxury, not a right.

We are witnessing this more and more.
