Send junk mail back – post office user

I am a mail box holder at the Edenvale Post Office and I visit there regularly.

I find the place is normally a pigsty as everyone who has a mail box, which has been crammed full of junk mail, throws the leaflets straight onto the floor outside their mail boxes.

I believe this is the mail box holder’s method of protest for being “spammed” by junk mail and I used to do exactly the same thing but this does not seem to have had any results.

All we achieve is the messing up our own environment, the post office become a mess and an unpleasant place to visit.

It is obvious that the person who pays the post office for the pleasure of having their advertising stuffed into our mail boxes does not see any benefit and an additional insult is that we have to pay for the staff to clean up the litter afterwards.

I believe the only way to get the post office to stop stuffing our mail boxes full of junk mail would be to mess up their environment and for mail box holders to send the junk mail back to the people who originally stuffed it into our boxes in the first place.

We need to protest by stuffing these leaflets back through the post boxes onto the inside post office floor, mess up their environment and space or, if that does not sit right with any mail box user, maybe, put it back into the white re-sort box or the red post box in front of the post office which would create an immense problem for the sorters.

I believe this will give them a hint that these leaflets are not appreciated by the majority of mail box users.

I think this will stop the exploitation of the post box user’s right to privacy.

I look forward to seeing a revolt and a clean post office floor soon.
