Live 2017 one day at a time

Welcome back to the world of hustle and bustle – and hold on, as this year may be a rough ride.

The new year has begun and that means new challenges and achievements. We see it as a chance to do everything over, start again and try again.

We can never predict what the year has in store for us, but we can only hope good things come our way. We all have challenges we face in life, but what makes the journey interesting is what we learn on the way.

We often find ourselves wanting tangible, material things to show our success. But maybe this year is about appreciating the little things in life, finding meaning and living a fulfilling life.

Some people stress about what others think about them and end up being miserable. I think it’s time to discover a new you and let that be your resolution for this year, and find ways to make someone’s day better.

As I was reading people’s social statuses I realised how much we are caught up believing all the lies and illusions others post. We filter and photoshop our lives to get likes and when society does not approve, we feel we have failed.

Many hide behind social media to make themselves feel better. So, when you log on, remember to take other’s posts with a pinch of salt, and don’t compare your life to others.

We can be a better society when we all are honest, whether in real life or on social media. Applaud those who post positive successes or experiences on social media and let those posts inspire you.

Instead of being motivated by unrealistic resolutions, don’t make any and rather tackle life one day at a time.
