A solution for bags under eyes

A useful adjunct to this treatment, if there is excessively loose skin around the eye, is to combine either skin tightening laser or skin needling to strengthen collagen and stimulate elastin production in the skin.

The lower eyelids are one of the first areas of the face to show age-related changes in both men and women alike.

Changes related to gravity become more pronounced and signs of facial ageing are the development of crow’s feet, excess skin around the eyes, dark circles and the development of prominent under-eye bags.

Loose skin and muscle create a tired appearance and excess fat becomes more prominent. Sagging and puffy lower eyelids can dampen an otherwise youthful appearance. Correcting this can make one look rested and refreshed.

Traditionally, the eye area has been difficult to treat without surgery. Previously, there was no alternative to surgical eye lifts or blepharoplasties.

Now with the advent of novel treatments such as dermal fillers and mesotherapy, virtually any patient in their thirties or above can be a candidate for a tightening and firming around the eye area. The younger the patient, the better the result.

If there is a hollow trough between the base of the eye bag and the top of your cheek, it means this new technique could be perfect for you.

Surgery to address tears trough hollows is not always appropriate, but tear-trough rejuvenation with dermal fillers brings back a youthful volume.

This contours the lower eyelids in a safe and minimally invasive way.

You’ll have a series of micro-injections along the line of the hollow using hyaluronic gel fillers. This is followed by a gentle massage to distribute the gel evenly.

There is only minimal discomfort and the procedure requires no downtime.

There could be a slight swelling and a 5 to 10 percent chance of bruising around the eyes, but this settles quickly and can be prevented in a lot of cases. You will see the results instantly and the effects last around 12 to 18 months.

As the final result is injector dependent, it is best to seek out an experienced doctor to carry out the treatment. This will ensure a natural, smooth result.
