Accident victim calls for witnesses

Despite admitting to causing the accident at the scene the driver of the Mercedes has now changed his story and is blaming me for the accident and the matter will no doubt have to be handled in small claims court.

EDITOR – On the morning of Saturday, July 16 at about 08:45am, I was driving in my red 1998 Hyundai Accent into Edenvale along Edenvale Road when a dark grey Mercedes C180 straddled my lane and collided with the front of my car.

Immediately after it happened a driver in a silver car drove past us and hooted at the driver of the Mercedes.

Despite admitting to causing the accident at the scene, the driver of the Mercedes has now changed his story and is blaming me for the accident and the matter will no doubt have to be handled in small claims court.

I hope that any of your readers who were on the road that morning and witnessed said accident could possibly come forward and make a statement on the matter so that this driver will not be allowed to shirk his responsibility by taking advantage of the fact that it is his word against mine.
