All 187 boys passed making it the school’s second 100% pass in the history of the school, following the class of 2021.

Of these matriculants, 88.2% of them achieved bachelor’s passes and a total of 182 distinctions were achieved.

The school’s top achiever was Seth Fabry, who obtained eight distinctions. Yusuf Syed got seven and Jordan Joubert six. Four boys achieved five distinctions and six got four each.

Headmaster Dale Jackson said they had put all resources in place to ensure learners reached their full potential. No boy was going to be left behind and the results speak for themselves.

Jake Franken (five distinctions), Seth Fabry (eight distinctions), Jordan Jourbet (six distinctions) and Yusuf Syed (seven distinctions).

“I’m delighted with the results. The 100% pass rate is an excellent outcome and just rewards a huge amount of hard work done by the boys and their teachers.

“For me the greatest accomplishment was the 88.2% bachelor’s passes which is the highest we have ever achieved,” said Jackson.

He said the school had put a programme in place to help learners who were at risk of not making it and that paid off.

“It reflects the standards we have set for ourselves and the emphasis we place on the middle ground.

“The top-end learners get the necessary support and we put a lot of effort into getting the weaker boys through, but it’s also important to ensure that those in between can achieve all that they are capable of,” said Jackson.

Collette Rattray, deputy headmistress (academics), shared the same sentiments. “As with any school, we had several boys who, going into their final year, were at a genuine risk of not making it.

“Once they were identified, several interventions were initiated, all aimed at not allowing them to fall by the wayside.

“Several teachers were involved in keeping track of them and providing the necessary support. Extra lessons, weekend classes and boot camp consolidation sessions took place, throughout the year, with the parents of the boys involved every step of the way,” said Rattray.

All of this was achieved alongside a very successful sporting year for the school, which included a historic first rugby win over Grey College.

The class of 2024 has proved that it is possible to have a holistic school experience.

“We have always prided ourselves on offering a rounded, holistic education to our boys, and the success of that was exemplified by the results of our ‘stage’ prefects, the student leaders.
