Golfers to compete for 2024 Fortress Invitational in Dowerglen

One hundred and twenty professional golfers are set to take to the field when they compete in the 2024 Fortress Invitational.

Hosted at Glendower Golf Club, South Africa’s eighth-ranked course, the 72-hole tournament will be held from October 17 to 20 and will see competitors battle it out for the R2m prize purse.

With free entrance for spectators the Fortress Invitational, now in its third season, it hopes to again elevate expectations and experiences both on and off the course.

Adding further incentive to the prize pot is the R200 000 bonus awarded to the Fortress Rookie of the Year, courtesy of Fortress Real Estate.

Established in 2023, this incentive is open to those who earned their Sunshine Tour card for the 2024/25 season by way of the Qualifying School, the Vusi Ngubeni Development Tournament, and the Betway Big Easy Tour.

Some of the big names entered this year include the likes of Ockie Strydom, Daniel van Tonder, Oliver Bekker, JJ Senekal, Keith Horne, Jaco van Zyl, Martin Rohwer as well as previous winners of the Fortress Invitational; Pieter Moolman (2022) and Robin Williams (2023).
