Little Eden hosts spring market

“It was wonderful to connect with the community whose support is invaluable.”

Spring was in the air when the Little Eden Society hosted its spring market at its Edenvale facility.

Held on September 14, the market attracted community members, young and old, and offered something for everyone.

It brought the community together for a fun-filled day by providing family-friendly activities and various stalls, including food vendors, gifts and novelties

The society’s public relations and communication co-ordinator, Gaahele Mokgoro, said the market was a fundraiser, a celebration of community spirit and in support of the NPO’s residents.

Between the society’s Bapsfontein and Edenvale homes, it provides lifelong care to 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disabilities.

Fundraisers like the market are vital to the NPO, and Mokgoro said this year’s market went well.

She said, “It was wonderful to connect with the community whose support is invaluable.

“The highlights of the market were the food, seeing DJ Spaz in action and the Spillage People rock group,” said Mokgoro.

The Spillage People kept market attendees on their feet.
