Kickstarting the initiative on August 22 was Komatsu South Africa with representatives Rebotile Matome, Refilwe Ramorula and Reginald Tshabalala.

Komatsu South Africa delivered 300 stationery packs to the Bedfordview Police Station in support of this drive.

“We are giving ourselves five months to collect these packs and undertake to identify other schools in the Bedfordview area should we get more.

“We have set a high target but believe that with the support of companies and the community, we can achieve this,” said the Victim Empowerment Group’s Carolyn Williams.

“Komatsu South Africa’s support and quick response to our request was extremely positive for us. We are hoping that other companies will be spurred on by Komatsu South Africa’s generous start,” added Williams.
