Edenvale SAPS secures successful conviction

The men were sentenced by Germiston Regional Court after being convicted of armed robbery on August 1.

Following the work of Edenvale SAPS, two men were sentenced to three years imprisonment.

Edenvale Police Station spokesperson Warrant Officer Jacob Mashile said on May 9, last year, Anele Manali and Katlego Nkuna Robbed victims in Eastleigh.

The robberies occurred while the duo were on their way home from a tavern.

“The case docket was handed over to Warrant Officer Geoffrey Debeer of the Edenvale Investigation Unit, who successfully opposed bail.

“Through W/O Debeer’s meticulous investigation, both accused plead guilty to all charges, and were found to be guilty as charged,” said Mashile.

Edenvale SAPS station commander Colonel Ntombomzi Basholo lauded the investigating officer.

She welcomed the sentencing and assured the community that the police will continue to use its resources to curb crime in its precinct.
