Edenvale Police reinforces relations with community to fight crime

The campaign was conducted to re-establish good relations between the community and the police.

To strengthen relations in the community, Edenvale SAPS conducted community engagement through a crime awareness campaign.

Conducted on July 11, the campaign saw Edenvale SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit, communication officers and crime prevention wardens take to the street.

According to Edenvale SAPS communication officer Warrant Officer Jacob Mashile, they conducted the campaign to re-establish good relations between the community and the police.

“The Edenvale SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit and the team addressed crimes such as gender-based violence, domestic violence, drugs and alcohol abuse, human trafficking, sexual offences and copper cable theft.

“We discourage community members from buying stolen goods,” he added.

Edenvale Police Station’s station commander Colonel Ntombomzi Basholo appeals to the community to work hand in hand with the police in the fight against crime.

Basholo informed community members that her office door was always open for them.

She further encouraged the community to report any criminal activities immediately to the police by contacting 08600 10111 or using the MySAPS App.
