Spark Bedfordview handed over school shoes, socks and other essentials to Khangezile Primary School on June 13.
This initiative is just one of many the school does to serve the community of Ekurhuleni.
According to Khangezile Primary School educator, Miss Maposh, scholars at the school are from different backgrounds with most being from underprivileged homes, and this often affects how they arrive at school.

“This got us thinking about how we can change the lives of these scholars and as a school, we decided to donate school shoes and socks to ensure a warm walk to school during the winter period,” said Hayley Tungela, Spark Bedfordview principal.
With the help of parents and staff members, the school was able to hand over 56 new pairs of school shoes, 10 pre-loved school shoes, six pairs of black socks, 33 pairs of grey socks and 44 pairs of white socks, along with disinfectant wipes and a box of Protex liquid hand soap.
“Two of our core values at Spark Schools are service and kindness.
“We are proud to be witnessing these acts of generosity from our parents and staff who have made a positive impact to the lives of 66 scholars through their donation,” added. Tungela.
