This comes with the recognition of crime prevention activities and programmes to effectively tackle daily issues and criminal and social concerns affecting young people, especially at schools, tertiary institutions and in local communities.

He said the SAPS recently honoured an invitation from the Don Mattera Child and Youth Care Centre to join them on their Family Day.

Mashile said the day was successful for the SAPS members who interacted with the youth and advised them to avoid wrongdoings and drugs.

“By implementing these targeted activities, the police create safe spaces for young individuals to voice their concerns, seek guidance, and acquire vital life skills.
