Local band and musicians set to host youth day fundraiser
The goal is to raise R10 000 for NPO Buskaid which teaches music to people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Join local bands and musicians on June 14 for a Youth Day fundraising concert.
Requiem is a Youth Day commemoration event aimed at raising funds for NPO Buskaid which provides music education in Soweto.

The event is organised by Angela Ferreira who is part of the band Desert Mother.
They are hoping to raise R10 000.
On the day they will be performing alongside Raptor Baby, Lefokolodi and Zondo Commission.
“It is in the spirit of Youth Day that I arranged the show. My goal is to raise money for education in Soweto, I then learned about Buskaid which is an amazing initiative. It has been around for 20+ years,” said Angela.
The Buskaid ensemble will be performing at the event, taking place at Bailey’s Bedfordview.
