Bedfordview residents take to the polls to make their mark

From pensioners to first-time voters residents shared their voting experiences.

Residents took to their respective voting stations on May 29 to cast their votes.

Though no major incidents were reported some residents expressed frustration over the slow process and long queues.

Hanni Daymond (69): My husband and I voted because we have to express ourselves and choose wisely to have a better South Africa.

Leigh Kassnei (73): Voting because it is the right thing to do. I am happy with how everything turned out though the queue was moving at a slow pace.

 

Erin O’Meara (32): If you don’t vote nothing will ever change and everyone’s vote counts. As a first-time voter, the process was simple and everyone was helpful and very kind.
Dominique with her mom Helen McBride at the Scout Hall in Bedfordview said they were voting to make a difference and to see change.

Arlene Smith (78): I voted because I care for the country and that it is important to vote for the right people and the future of our country.
