Residents are invited to make donations to enable RAG to install more lights in more strategic locations.

RAG chairperson Anjela da Silva explained that the NPO undertook a pilot solar streetlight project in the suburb in 2023 and this was a great success.

“In the pilot project, RAG installed a new solar-powered streetlight on the corner of Van Buuren and Harper roads.

This light was generously sponsored by one of our residents, Chris Birch from MCE Electric.

“Other caring, community-minded residents assisted with the installation,” Da Silva explained.

She emphasised the need for community support for the initiative.

“We are hugely grateful to MCE Electric for their investment in our community’s safety and wellbeing.

“RAG will now donate 10 solar lights for public space illumination and protection. We are also looking for additional donations to bolster our efforts.”
