Police nab suspect with unlicensed firearm and minerals
Officers conducted a search and found a silver-grey revolver with four live ammunition rounds.

Officers from the Ekurhuleni District Crime Intelligence Aggravated Robbery Team and the EMPD Task Team arrested a suspect on January 1 following a tipoff that he had been dealing in gold.
Allegedly, the suspect was seen several times doing business with different people.
Officers believed the suspect was armed and driving a red Toyota Etios with a Mpumalanga registration number.

The team followed the suspect from the Alberton area until he was stopped on the R21 near Kempton Park and opposite Emperors Palace.

The suspect could not produce a license for the firearm.
Also found in his possession was a large stone suspected to contain precious minerals.
The 62-year-old was arrested and detained at Kempton Park Police Station.
