Local SPCA launches kindness for kennels campaign

The Germiston Bedfordview SPCA needs support to revamp their kennels for the well-being of the animals.

As the festive season draws near, the Germiston Bedfordview SPCA is pleading with the community to support its latest initiative, the Kindness for Kennels campaign.

Roxanne Bredenkamp, chairperson of the branch, said their mission has always been to provide a safe haven for animals in need and this December, they are embarking on a critical effort to renovate and upgrade their kennels.

They aim is to raise R50 000 to emphasise the transformative power of kindness to ensure the well-being of the animals in their care.

“The kennels, weathered by time and the elements, require attention not just for aesthetic reasons but, more crucially, for the health and safety of the furry companions in their care.

“The campaign serves as an opportunity for the community to unite, extending warmth to previously owned and now unwanted, stray, or neglected animals,” shared Bredenkamp.

The branch is urging valued supporters to become part of this transformative journey.

“Contributions, whether big or small, will contribute to the R50 000 goal. Donations, whether in memory of a beloved pet or as a gift to someone special, promise a lasting impact,” she said.

Bredenkamp has expressed gratitude and thanked residents for being a part of their community.

“Your support means the world to us and the animals we serve.”
