SAPS members get awards of recognition
Members of the Ekurhuleni district SAPS were awarded for their best service in the financial year of 2022/23.
Edenvale SAPS walked away with the award for best client service centre and complaints efficiency at the Ekurhuleni SAPS District Excellence Awards.
Major General Anna Sithole, the Ekurhuleni SAPS district commissioner, led the awards.
Members of the SAPS across CoE were awarded for their excellence in the 2022/23 financial year.
“These are men and women who serve their communities with pride, honesty and integrity and they have built a good reputation,” said Sithole.

Sithole also bid farewell to Major General Nkhensani Lemba, who served the community of Germiston with diligence for seven years.
Lemba has been appointed as district commissioner in Sedibeng.
Major General Thabo Mphuthi, who served the community of Benoni, also bid farewell after having been appointed as the district commissioner for Upington.
The best police station of the year went to Kwa-Thema SAPS with Putfontein taking second place.
Zonkizizwe SAPS took the top spot in the operational efficiency, crime prevention and best component categories.
Edenvale SAPS scored 100% for best CSC and complaints efficiency.
Dunnotar SAPS walked away with the best detective service award whilst Daveyton SAPS claimed the best HR efficiency award.
