Inyoni Creek Village backs the Boks

Residents proudly displayed their team spirit by donning Springbok rugby jerseys.

Rand Aid’s Inyoni Creek Retirement Village came alive with celebration as the village celebrated its September birthdays and the kick-off of the Rugby World Cup.

Held on September 7, the event was celebrated under a lively Springbok theme.

Kicking things off, staff members made a grand entrance by singing Hier kom die Bokke, setting the tone for an energetic and cheerful celebration.

Residents proudly displayed their team spirit by donning Springbok rugby jerseys, while staff members enthusiastically joined in on the fun, wearing rugby-themed attire.

The highlight of the day was a rugby-themed quiz, expertly hosted by village manager Jenny Tonkin.

Social worker Shaun Victor and the ever-enthusiastic village sister, Jana Bezuidenhout, acted as linesmen for the quiz, adding their own flair to the event.

The quiz brought out a competitive spirit in the residents, testing their rugby knowledge and sharing plenty of laughter in the process.

After the quiz, residents were treated to a delightful spread provided by deputy manager Marinda Looyen.

Debbie Kotze, the administrator, captured the event’s essence with photographs and kept score for the ‘best-dressed’ competition.

Sally Lamb and Iris Clark (dressed in her green and gold) sat together at the event.

But the fun didn’t stop there. Jenny led residents in a spontaneous Mexican wave, adding some extra excitement to the festivities.

As residents left the event excitement filled the village as supporters prepared to back the Bokke.
