Edenvale SAPS and stakeholders conduct search operation at Eastleigh Primary

Edenvale SAPS in partnership with stakeholders administered a school search at Eastleigh Primary School.

Edenvale Police Station communication officer Warrant Officer Jacob Mashile said the search was conducted on September 8.

Edenvale SAPS, Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens and security personnel conducted the search.

Mashile said it came as a surprise to the learners as it was unannounced.

“The learners searched ranged from Grade Six and Grade Seven, about 400 in total.”

SAPS and stakeholders searched for dangerous weapons and illegal substances that pupils were suspected to be bringing onto the school premises.

Mashile said she appealed to the learners not to carry weapons as they may cause harm to other learners.
