Flower Foundation spoils local senior citizens
De Wetshof Retirement Home got a face-lift for Mandela Day.
“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.” – Nelson Mandela.
On Mandela Day, the Flower Foundation Retirement Home’s maintenance team and HO staff gathered with their rollers and brushes at De Wetshof Retirement Home.
They painted the boundary wall for a more aesthetically pleasing look.

Much preparation went into getting the wall ready to paint.
Another team cut the grass to ensure the residents could walk around freely.
On the day, Flower Foundation also teamed up with various organisations and donated soup, rolls, cupcakes and blankets to the residents.
There was enough soup for the residents to have two meals.
All the residents and staff sat on the newly mowed lawns and filled the air with laughter.
The organisation thanked Pick n Pay, Summerfields, Vegeworth, Huang Attorneys, Kencare, Food Lovers Market and Park Meadows for treating the residents.
