WATCH: Explosion on Bree Street possibly linked to gas line

Sandringham CPF, joined by Alexandra, Bramley, Midrand and Sandton CPFs urged the public to avoid Johannesburg CBD after an explosion on Bree Street, possibly on gas lines underground this afternoon, July 19.

Shortly before 19:00, a 1km evacuation zone had been initiated and emergency services are evacuating people due to gas risk.

The public is urged to stay clear of the area to allow emergency services to attend to the scene.
