Edenvale has since been left in the dark after SOS Security informed the public that the tiger, reportedly spotted in Eastleigh on Monday, had been sedated and moved to a sanctuary.

Edenvale SPCA later stated that SOS Security failed to provide any evidence that the animal had been captured and sedated.

Members of NSPCA and Sandton SPCA are assisting Edenvale SPCA in executing today’s searches at about five properties in Illiondale.

“We have received a lot of conflicting information and the security company involved has not been forthcoming. We are just trying to determine the facts. We have received a lot of information and these searches are just to confirm that the tiger is not at any of the properties mentioned to us,” said Jade Nel, Edenvale SPCA secretary and former inspector.

“We have no further information on the tiger’s whereabouts.”

Bedfordview and Edenvale News journalists are on the scene and reported that a search warrant executed at the first property on Lols Road yielded no results.

“We were met with a bit of resistance at the first property as the attorney was present when we arrived but eventually we were allowed in,” Nel said at the scene of the second property that is currently being searched.
