Birthday celebrations with newborns at Edenvale Hospital

“The management and staff of Edenvale Hospital received us warmly, as did the mothers.”

Edenvale resident Joesephine Ofori-Amankwah celebrated her birthday by giving back to others when she and her friends provided donations to newborns at Edenvale Hospital.
On September 9, her 41st birthday, Joesephine visited the hospital with Edith Nengwani, who also celebrated her birthday on the same day.
The pair, with friend Sitandiwe, decided the best way to celebrate their birthdays was to show and share the love with newborn children.
Joesephine said the donations formed part of the 0909 Baby Project.
In 2020, Joesephine visited Edenvale Hospital to donate hampers made with the assistance of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD).
This year, the group distributed hampers that contained Bibles, blankets, wet wipes, baby necessities and other items to the mothers of the newborn children.
Joesephine thanked the South African Bible Society – Kempton Park, Twinkle Little Stars Nursery School and Atlantis Early Learning Centre for their donations to the hampers.
“The management and staff of Edenvale Hospital received us warmly, as did the mothers,” said Joesephine.
She said although the group had also planned to distribute hampers at a community hospital in Alexandra, they were turned away.
