Local high-ranking officer appointed as commissioner

Her new position came into effect on July 1.

Former Germiston SAPS station commander Major General Adelaide Nkhesani Lemba was appointed as the district commissioner of Sedibeng.

A recent farewell event at the Germiston SAPS hall honoured her service to the Germiston community.

During the event, the Gauteng provincial commissioner congratulated the new major general.

Lemba joined the SAPS in 1994 as an administration clerk, and two years later, she completed the basic police development learning programme and steadily rose through the ranks.

Germiston SAPS communications officer Maxwell Mabunda bid his former boss, Major General Adelaide Nkhesani Lemba, farewell.

She was station commander of the SAPS Germiston for the past seven years until she was appointed district commissioner of Sedibeng.

Lemba obtained a national diploma in policing in 2001 and later a B Tech degree in Policing (2006). She also holds a national certificate in accounting theory (1993).

Her new position was from July 1.

Major General Adelaide Nkhesani Lemba received gifts during her farewell ceremony.

Friends and colleagues presented Lemba with gifts and congratulatory and farewell messages.
