Over 1000 bikes put on show at Jeppe Quondam

250 Bikes were on display however the event attracted thousands more.

Bikers from far and wide descended on Bedfordview when the 1000 Bike Show was held at Jeppe Quondam.

Held over the weekend of July 26 and 27, the event was hosted by the Johannesburg Classic Motorcycle Club.

It not only attracted motorcycle riders but motorcycle enthusiasts and community members.

Live entertainment was provided by 60 Shades of Grey.

With early classics as well as post era classics on display, attendees had a plethora of machined metal to look at.

With a variety to do, such as browse the food and market stalls, it was a fun-filled day for all.

Chairperson of the CMC Graham Kendall said there were 250 bikes on display however the event attracted thousands more.

These were parked on the lawns of Jeppe Quondam.

“Although its called the 1000 Bike Show the objective is to gather a 1000 or more bikes at the event,” said Graham.

On July 26 Graham estimated that there were 3000 bikes in total at grounds.

“We well exceeded our objective,” he said.

Compared to last year’s event Graham said this year the show utilised more outdoor space.

He said this was done to allow for more space in showrooms and so that the event would be less cramped.

“I believe things certainly worked out well this year,”
