On Mandela Day visitors are welcome to connect with and involve themselves in the lives of the society’s residents and view the facilities.

Little Eden Society’s public relations and communications coordinator Gaahele Mokgoro said the day will provide opportunity for guests to gain a better understanding of the society’s mission and cause.

This year’s Mandela Day theme is ‘Climate, Food & Solidarity’.

Little Eden encouraged anyone interested in making a difference to join the society between 09:00 and 15:00.
Visitors are welcome at the Edenvale and Bapsfontein Homes.

Those visiting and who have the means to do so can donate disposable nappies, instant porridge or soft cereals for the residents.

The society’s charity shop is also in dire need of donations of second-hand items.

Gaahele said those who attend will engage in activities with residents, assist with maintenance work, or sort through donations in the charity shop’s depot

“It’s an ideal opportunity to make a difference and help to celebrate one of South Africa’s most inspiring leaders and icons, Nelson Mandela,” said CEO of Little Eden Xelda Rohrbeck.

“We’d love as many people as possible to join us on the day, to help us continue our work in providing care and support for the residents.”
