Peace walk activist spotted in Bedfordview

Dlamini has taken initiative to promote harmony in South Africa.

Social activist Siyanda Dlamini has been on a mission to promote peace and stability across South Africa since the beginning of last year.

He has walked from Durban en route to Soweto and will head to Cape Town.

He walks from town to town, engaging the locals, especially the youth, about the social ills that affect the country.

He was spotted recently on Van Buuren Road by residents and at Eastgate Shopping Centre.

His journey came about after the July unrest last year and the pessimism caused by unemployment and high crime rates, particularly against women.

“The campaign is going well, and people have been so welcoming.

“My goal is to bring peace and stability to the country and the lives of residents.

“The message I am trying to bring is unity, tranquillity and stability.

“It is not enough for us to complain about things but do nothing to bring about change,” he explained.
