Police hunt for suspects after shootings on Bradford Road

The Gauteng SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, said the woman was severely injured and is receiving medical attention.

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after two people were shot and injured on Bradford Road at about 07:45 on February 21.

An Ethiopian businesswoman and her security escort were shot multiple times outside a nursery school on Bradford Road.

The woman was rushed to the nearest healthcare facility and is receiving medical treatment.

The Gauteng police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, confirmed that the woman was shot eight times in the upper body.

“The businesswoman had just dropped off her child at a nursery school when she was accosted by the suspect.

“She had just returned to her car and was about to leave the premises.

“Her security escort in another car was shot four times but sustained minor injuries,” said Masondo.

The motive for the shooting is not yet known.

Investigations are underway, and the police have appealed to the public to come forward if they have information that could help the case.

The police believe that more than one suspect was responsible for the shootings.

The woman was driving a white BMW, and the other victim was driving a white VW.
