Three women arrested for shoplifting in Meadowdale

Three women have been arrested for shoplifting at a Pep Store.

Three women are in police custody on theft charges.

The women in their twenties were arrested for shoplifting after being found with the stolen items from Pep Store in Meadowdale to the value of R17 300.

The incident took place between 13:00 and 15:00 on January 25.

Police officers Dimakatso April and Happy Magoro are pictured with the impounded vehicle used by the three suspects.

Bedfordview police Lieutenant Colonel Sinothi Ndaba said the store manager was alerted by the security officer to the crime.

“They walked into the store under the pretence to be shopping.

“However, the security officer became suspicious when they kept going back and coming out with more items.

“She enquired with the manager if indeed they were purchasing those items,” said Ndaba.

The suspects were driving a Ford Fiesta that was parked by the shop’s door.
