Lowell Bezuidenhout, from Sunnyridge, obtained six distinctions from Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen in Boksburg.

He received the good news on Friday when he collected his matric results at the school.
Lowell said he was excited and proud of his achievements. He thanked his teachers and family for their support in his matric year.
“During Covid-19, I was motivated to work extra hard. For the first time, I was in the top 10, and it motivated me to climb the academic ladder.
“I now have a distinction in mathematics which is a great achievement.

Lowell plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Pretoria.
“My advice to 2023’s matric learners is to remember that not everything is a competition. Do your best and ask for help when needed.”
