WATCH: A mechanic workshop in Edenvale catches fire

No casualties or fatalities were reported following the incident.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) is investigating a fire that broke out at 25 Fourth Avenue, corner of Second Street in Edenvale.

When emergency personnel arrived they found a lapa, including two cars and bikes, on fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at the moment.

No casualties or fatalities were reported following the incident.

On December 25, firefighters from the Edenvale, Bedfordview and Primrose fire departments responded to the scene after a lapa caught on fire.

According to the DEMS spokesperson William Ntladi, the lapa was used as a mechanic workshop.

“We received a call at 16:24 about the incident.

“Three fire engines along with 14 firefighters were dispatched.

“Edenvale fire department was the first one to arrive on the scene,” said Ntladi.
