The annual RE/MAX National Toy and Book Collection offers a great opportunity to spread some festive cheer to those in need.

Drop off any spare toys, books, stationery supplies and children’s clothing at a local participating RE/MAX office between December and January 2023.

All donations received will be dropped off at various local charities and children’s organisations across the country at the end of the campaign.

Regional director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, Adrian Goslett, is excited to launch this year’s campaign.

“Our offices are always eager to participate in this drive.

“In the past, we have had many carloads full of donations arrive at various children’s organisations across the country.

“I am hopeful that this drive will perform well again this year and that we will be able to help positively impact the communities we serve.”

For those who are keen to participate, Goslett explained that there are many ways to get involved.

“If you have the spare cash, you can purchase some gifts to donate.

“Otherwise, you could donate for free by organizing an annual spring clean of children’s closets to make room for any new toys or clothing they might receive over the festive season,” Goslett said.

“If money is a bit tight and you don’t have unused children’s items to donate, you could volunteer some of your time, perhaps at local reading groups or children’s hospitals.

“If you do not know what organisations need the help, a local property professional might know about community projects and campaigns in the area and might be able to point you in the right direction,” he said.

There are plenty of ways to support your local community over the festive season – even spending some quality time with friends, family, and neighbours can help individuals feel more connected over a sometimes lonely holiday season.

No matter how you choose to give back this December, RE/MAX of Southern Africa wishes all South Africans a safe festive season ahead.

“May we all be responsible as we travel to family gatherings and other events throughout the season,” Goslett said.
