Greenstone Crest residents Poovan and Celeste Soobramoney collaborated with RySky Foundation and Compass Early Child Development Centre to mark their daughter’s first birthday.

They showered 52 benefactors from the centre with pizza boxes and party packs on November 19.

Compass’s Janine Juries said the two organisations work closely together for the benefit of the less fortunate.

“We assist poverty-stricken or low-income families, especially with ECD needs. We do have a shelter as well,” explained Juries.

The family of Ayla expressed why they felt the need to do good for the community.

“Our child is such a blessing to us so we wanted to bless it forward. To do that we had to do some research until we were informed about this centre.

“For us, this is about adding value to the community we are part of,” they said.

Founder of RySKy Foundation Annamaria Lechki emphasised their commitment to working with other charity-based organisations for the empowerment of all communities.
