Teachers gather at Edenglen High for robotics course

After learning the necessary skills, the teachers built a traffic light using a breadboard and electronic components.

Teachers from across Gauteng and neighbouring provinces visited Edenglen High School when the school hosted the Resolute Robotics Training Course.

During the course, teachers were taught how to program (code) and virtually simulate a basic 3-colour traffic light on TinkerCAD.

After learning the necessary skills, the teachers built a traffic light using a breadboard and electronic components, which were then physically tested.

Later the teachers learned how to code and transfer it to an Arduino circuit board that was used to control a servo motor and a light sensor.

This was simulated virtually and then physically tested.

The codes learned can be used in a line-following robot, which Edenglen High School hopes to integrate into the 2023 Grade Eight technology syllabus.
