Saheti hosts fifth science fair

Competition was tough and the research presented was innovative and advanced for high school learners.

Learners from three schools came together when Saheti High School hosted its fifth annual science fair.

The hosts were joined by learners from Holy Rosary School and St Andrew’s School for Girls.

Learners from Saheti School, Holy Rosary School and St Andrew’s School for Girls came together when Saheti High School hosted its fifth annual science fair.

On the day, 19 projects were on display showcasing the learners’ scientific investigations.

The wok was judged by a panel of educators from the science and life sciences departments of the three schools.

Competition was tough and the research presented was innovative and advanced for high school learners.

Results were as follows:

• First place: “Super Capacitor RC Plane” by Panayioti Economou (Saheti)

• Second place: “How would we allow Aquaponics to operate in South Africa while being ecologically beneficial?” by Saesha Singh (St Andrew’s School for Girls)

• Third place: A tie between “Vermicomposting and the effect on plant growth” by Nawaal Mia (St Andrew’s School for Girls) and “The Future of Milk” by Roxanne Mangauzani (Holy Rosary)

Panayioti was also the proud recipient of Saheti’s Mandusic Award for Excellence in Construction.
