City of Ekurhuleni opens swimming pools around the City.

The City of Ekurhuleni officially opened several of its swimming pools to the public on October 1.

Before opening the facilities, the city underwent a maintenance and preparation process to ensure a healthy and safe swimming environment for bathers.

City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said whilst only a selected number of pools are open, the city continues with maintenance at all times to ensure that the water quality of all pools is compliant with the safety standards set by Life Saving SA and the aquatics regulatory authorities.

“While a majority of the pools may be opened for use now, members of the public are advised to exercise caution and patience with one another as high public turnouts are anticipated due to the current hot weather conditions.

“Crowd control measures are in place, and lifesavers are deployed to ensure the safety of the patrons,” said Dlamini.

The following pools are open:

• Birchleigh Swimming Pool.

• Delville Swimming Pool.

• Edenvale Swimming Pool.

• Klopper Park Swimming Pool.

• Benoni North Swimming Pool.

• Leondale Swimming Pool.
