For the next four months, the SPCA’s annual fundraiser will be open for donations. Last year, Edenvale SPCA raised R141 598

With the community’s support, Edenvale SPCA hopes to match that amount or raise more.

Administrator Samantha Lubbe said it is only through the community’s generosity that the SPCA is able to look after the animals under its care.

Funds raised will assist the organisation reach the new year as it manages its busiest period of the year.

“Animals are abandoned, either dumped or surrendered due to people not making proper arrangements for their pets when they go on away,” said Samantha.

She said during this time of year incidents of cruelty increase and more animals need to be rescued.

“The more animals that come in, the more we will fill up, and along with that comes additional costs,” said Samantha.

These include food, medical treatment, washing blankets, paperwork, fuel, vehicle services and maintenance to name a few.

Samantha said like previous years this year was hard for Edenvale SPCA.

“Please consider making a donation, every little bit helps and makes a huge difference. Thank you to each and everyone that supports us with this drive every year.”

Donors are reminded to email proof of payment and a short message to Manager@edenvalespca.co.za

Message can be anything such as “In memory of Snoopy, on behalf of Snoopy, with love from, anonymous”.

“We love seeing all your messages come through,” said Samantha.
