Marx said she started the squad with eight friends and her family.

She said it is sponsored by eAssist, One Stop Tavern Towing, DOT Towing, RSB Autogroup, FirstHelp, and GauMed.

Currently, the squad attracts netball enthusiasts from a variety of areas.

“We are open to welcoming anybody that loves the game.”

Marx explained that the squad for the moment is only entered in the senior leagues.

“We do have children that practice with us every weekend, so I hope to expand with a junior mixed team soon,” said Marx.

Captains of the Pixies are Tyrone Gouws, Dillian Swart, Lechaan Gouws, Michelle Marx (coach), and Desiree Viljoen.
